English Sample Paper-1

English language questions asked in competitive exams are usually basic. Most organizations like UPSC, SSC, IBPS and other banks maintain a difficulty level of Class X standard.
You may go through the following questions on English for competitive exams that cover two important type of questions asked in most written tests.
Directions: (Q. 1 to 5) Which of the phrases (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) given below should replace the phrase given in bold in the following sentences to make the sentence grammatically meaningful and correct. Directions (Q. 6 to 10) In each question below a sentence with four words printed in bold type is given. These are lettered as (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv).
